June 16/42

Dear Mother:
Here I am writing to you at 1 o'clock at night. I am on night hanger guard now so I work at night and sleep in the daytime. What a life! I am going to study a little while tonight and then I will read for a while.
How is Melville doing is he getting pinched anymore or was the last time enough for him. I got that money order Monday morning in the mail so don't let Melville wring that postmaster's neck. It sure seemed funny getting your note after I had al ready been home.

The rumors of us being posted haven't started to go around yet but I expect they will start about tomorrow or Thursday at least. I sure am hoping we will leave this dismal spot pretty darn soon as it is really getting under my skin all this inactivity. They haven't been flying here since Saturday so I don't know if those new planes came in yet or not.
We didn't have a bad trip back, we only ran into 3 miles of real bad road but we finally made it about 3:30 in the morning. I sure slept that night let me tell you. I didn't think I could get out of bed. I think I will write Jack Eaton a letter to-night too and find out how he is doing. Well so long for now and I am hoping to see you in Regina this coming week-end.
Orval
Say goodbye to Melville for me.
