Re: P/O W.I. Mouat, J17084
You have already been advised by the Department of National Defence Air that P/O W.I. Mouat, J17084, who was reported missing on the 11th of July, 1943, is now reported as a prisoner of war in Stalag Luft III, Germany, prisoner of war number 1783.
You will please find enclosed herewith:
(a) regulations concerning communication with prisoners of war
(b) list of firms permitted to forward tobacco and cigarettes
(c) list of firms permitted to forward books, cards, games, music, etc.
(d) an official label which must be attached to your personal parcel before mailing
(e) two copies of P/W No. 3 which must be completed and enclosed in your parcel
(f) special purchase permits for tea, coffee and sugar
You will note that the official next of kin only may forward a personal parcel and this once every three months. However, cigarettes, books, games, etc. are not considered personal parcels and may be sent at any time by anyone through the duly licensed dealers.
Henceforth the official label and necessary forms will go forward to you every three months.
