Dear Mom,
I've just finished a 36, which I spent in Harrogate where I made a couple of visits to 17 Fjrst Ave, May's home. They were glad to see me. I gave them part of my ration cards, which I do not need.
I visited the town of Knaresborough again and bought a few photo cards of the town.
On Saturday evening I had just returned to the hostel, where I was staying. after seeing the picture, "Blood on the Sun", starring James Cagney, when another R C A F. fellow comes in and gives me a five shilling ticket to the Royal Baths dance. He said he had bought the ticket but later on met a blond who swept him off his feet so much that he wasn't going to it, but was spending the evening with her. There were about 45 minutes of the dance left so off I went. I didn't do any dancing, just listened to the music and looked on.
I'm getting my next quarter's leave, beginning November 26 and lasting until Dec. 6. I intend going to Wales, unless my plans change, because I want to see that country before I return to Canada.
On December 7, May has hopes of coming to Harrogate on leave, so I'll be able to spend some time with her before Christmas.
On November 17, 18, and 19, I intend to see Betty in Edinburgh, on a 72 hour pass. Now, all I hope is that they don't post me away from this Station before it all takes place.
So long for the time being, Love, Lewis.
