Dear Mom,
This letter is from Harrogate, a place similar to Leamington Spa, and by that I mean that it is a residential town. It's very clean, with beautiful gardens, but expensive to live in.
Last night I went to the dance at The Royal Baths, with its swell hall. It cost five shillings to go (about $ 1.15 ). Lots of pretty girls and good music. I came here this week-end to get "the lay of the land" so that I'd know my way around when I have my date here with May on Wednesday night.
I'll tell you more later.
So long for now.
Love, Lewis.
