Dear Mom,
Here are a few lines to let you know that all is well.
To me this is the strangest letter that I have ever written, since I can't say where I am or what is happening to me, although I'd like to, since it's quite an interesting situation, and a million new and interesting things have happened to me, but mums the word.
But I can say that I'm very happy about everything, and am being well fed. Stewart and a lot of other fellows I know are here with me, and we are all getting a1ong great.
Since there's very little I can say, I just want to let you know that I'm thinking a lot about you and all the family. and hope that everybody will keep well and happy. One thing I do know is that I'll certain1y have an awful lot to ta1k about when I see you all again. Too bad we aren't allowed to keep a diary, because then it would be easier to keep a record of my experiences. But I'll just have to remember it all.
Love to all, Lewis.
