Dear Mom,

Had a good trip back I slept right through to Truro, and had some good seats the rest of the way.

I met two sailors, one was a Petty Officier, and a very nice young girl (from Comer brook, Newfoundland), on her way back to work after a vacation trip home. All three were from Toronto, so we all sat together in a four-seat arrangement.

We all had dinner in the diner, but for supper, the sailors provided the milk, Bernie, the girl from Newfoundland contributed cake, while I provided sandwiches . So we had a little party. Everybody enjoyed themselves, so that the trip seemed really short.

Love, Lewis.
