Mont Joli, P. Q.
May 13, 1944,
Dear Mom,
Received your censored letter today. I know that they are almost always censored, but that was the first one that I received that had any parts blanked out. Have you finished Joyce's other dresses yet?
I'm glad to hear that you have flower beds started. Joyce wrote that they have flowers in bloom. That's because their Spring is so far ahead of ours.
Stewart is home now on his last 96, since he has been shifted to Flights, just like myself, so he'll get no more 96's. He's getting along just fine, although he's not taking any course, as I am. I hear occasionally from Al, and he says he's getting along well with his studies.
Mart Kenny was here a few weeks ago to play for a dance. I understand he continued on to the East, after he left here. We've been getting a lot of entertainment lately, such as The Blue Bell Bullets, sponsored by the Bell Telephone Company. They put on a stage show for us a few weeks ago, and a few nights ago I saw the R C A F. stage show, "All Clear". It was the same show that I had seen in St. Thomas, but I enjoyed it just as much the second time around.
Tonight, the seventy -piece orchestra of the United States Army Air Force arrived by plane. They will play in one of the hangers, so that should be a real treat. It's now suppertime, so I must go.
Love, Lewis.
