Dear Mother;
I don’t suppose any of the letters I have written you in the last month have reached you yet due to a pile up in the mail office in London. I suppose that also explains why the navy set up a post-office of its own there.
There isn’t much sense in you sending any more letters or boxes over here as I will be returning before they arrive, I expect. I expect to leave here within a week or two, the sooner the better! If I get leave when I return, I may go to Ontario for a while to see Mary. I will if she gets out of barracks once in a while.
Tell Marjorie I got her letter but I haven’t time tonight to write to her too. I’ll write to her when I reach Canada.
Cousin Jeanne sends me magazines regularly and they are great company. She had hard luck with her boy-friend. He had just arrived to see her on leave and contracted malaria or something. He lost a leave they had waited for for two or three years. Well, I must close be good, hope to see you soon
Love
John
