Dear Mrs. Addison,-
Shortly after I was discharged from the hospital, I received my usual “Christmas Box” from Humewood School. As this box had your name on it, I trust that you will pass along my sincere thanks to the people who made this gift possible.
Of course when a fellow goes into hospital over here his mail takes a great deal of time to catch up to him. Anyway, your parcel was the only one that I have received this year so far and you can believe that it was certainly welcome.
I don’t know who does the shopping for these boxes but they certainly do a marvellous job.
I also received a lovely sweater, but there was no name of the person that made it. Anyway, I hope that all your gifts reach the boys they were sent to & I am sure they will all be just as pleased as I was with my box.
There isn’t very much news to write about at present, as I’ve been away from the front for about three months now so I’ll just say Cheerio & All the Best of 1945.
Thanking you again,
I remain,
Pte. C.R. Bingley.
