Dear Mrs. Addison:
Just a short note to thank you very, very much for the swell parcel I received from Humewood School the other day. It really is pleasing to know that the folks back home are thinking about us at this time. Letters too are appreciated, they seem to take us right back home just for the short time it takes to read them. I guess that is why we always look forward to letters from home.
At the time of receiving the parcels I was up in the midlands near Northampton doing a bit of flying but am back down south now.
Christmas day here was rather cool but nice and sunny. I imagine it would be quite different here with the grass still green than it would at home where you have had so much snow lately.
Aside from the fact that the Christmas wasn’t white a fairly good time was had by all. We had turkey & the usual trimmings including lots of beer & free cigarettes. I don’t drink or smoke so that didn’t worry me much.
In closing I just want to thank you once more and express to all who are concerned a very Happy and Victorious New Year.
Sincerely,
Bruce Sills.
