Dear Mrs. Stewart:
I have learned with deep regret that your son, Sergeant Sydney Thomas Fisher, is reported missing on Active Service.
This advice has been received from the R.C.A.F. Casualties Officer Overseas and you may rest assured that any further information received at these Headquarters will be communicated to you immediately.
I join with you in the hope that better news will be forthcoming in the near future.
Yours sincerely,
E. E. Middleton
Croup Captain,
