Sept. 6, 1944. Dear Mom- Well, how did you enjoy your trip back east? Three letters from Brenda arrived a couple of days ago. June 12, July 4 & 7. You hadn't arrived in Ottawa when they were written. I'll bet you were glad to see your niece at last and she's probably spoilt by all the attention she got. But when I receive some mail from you I'll hear all about it. Four records sent April 9 from Spencer's arrived. Thanks Mom, I had to leave all records at [?]. Also three [?] parcels- one from you, New Westminster P.O.W. and Mrs Buker, Calgary, whoever she may be. "Green Light" by Douglas arrived, sent by Pythian sisters and I'm reading it now. Tell them thanks. We cook our own Red Cross food here on open stoves and make some pretty good meals (usually slightly burnt when I cook.) Sun-bathing is out of fashion now but would like to get some more. Solong, love to all, Syd.
