Mrs C.N. Stewart,

73 Moss Street,

Victoria, B.C.

Dear Mrs. Stewart:

The R.C.A.F. Casualties Officer Overseas has advised that your son, Sergeant Sydney Thomas Fisher, previously reported missing on Active Service is now reported safe but unfortunately a prisoner of war.

It is a pleasure to convey this further information as I feel it will relieve to some extent the great anxiety endured by you. Your eagerness to despatch letters and parcels to your son is realized and to assist in that connection, detailed information and instructions will be forwarded to you by the Department of National War Services, Ottawa, Canada.

May I assure you that any additional details received at these Headquarters will be communicated immediately.

Yours sincerely,

F.A. Sampson

Wing Commander,

For Chief of the Air Staff.
