Dearest Mom -
This is my first letter from the new Luft camp in which I've been since last week. This camp is new by the Luftwaffe and we are finding out now what we've been missing at the other place. Here are the letters I've received in the last month or so. yours of Dec. 7 and 27, Jan. 4 and 13, Feb. 5, 23 and 27, Brenda's of Dec. 21 and 28, Jan. 17 and 26 Feb. 6 and 15, March 1st and Jim's sports letter Jun. 25. Lots of snapshots also - they're good. Six parcels so far - chocolate Oct. 30, food Nov. 15, Nov. 7 from [?], cigarettes from Carnival and B.C. House, clothing Can. Red Cross. Further clothing unecessary except odd socks, hankies and tooth powder. Food parcels and chocolate most appreciated - don't go to too much trouble or expense. Glad to hear is all is well. I look forward each day to the mail and get a kick out of all your letters. You're all in my thoughts, continually and I go over the snapshots every day. I intend to sign over more of my pay each month and will detail when I do so. hope my mail reaching you regularly now - there should be a lot of it. I wander around all day in a pair of shorts and I've got a good start on a tan. This camp is heaven to the other camp. Received Xmas card from Mrs. Bunce and replied long time past Say hello to everyone for me. Hows George and Mitzi? Lots of love to Brenda & Jim & yourself. Note new address! Stalag Luft 3.
So long, Mom,
Syd
