March 1, 1944. Dear Mom - A few days ago rec'd a real landslide of mail - 17 letters. Oct., Nov, and Dec. Eleven from you, five from Jim and one from Brenda. Latest from you Dec. 4, 5, 12. It's too bad about the hold-up of mail but hope it's coming thru' better now. You all sounded excited about Linda's coming - thanks for sending bracelet. I told you before I rec'd your records & those of R.A., album and cards. Watch still working fine. Please send two sets heavy underwear and two sets pyjamas for next winter, just in case. I have about six food parcels in store, still drawing them out, and they sure hit the spot. During these dreary months they make a bright spot in the days. Still taking vitamin pills. Is the Ken Duncan who is lost the one we knew? Movie news and jokes in your letter much appreciated. Also news of people in services, etc. Give my regard to Cookie. Am writing Brenda & Jim. All Love O.K. & cheerful. Lots of love, Syd.
