Dec. 2, 1943. Dear Mom - Monday night was a big night for me - the evening mail brought me ten letters seven from you and three from Brenda. Yours Aug. 8, 22, 26, 29. Sept 5, 12, 17. Brenda's Aug. 21, 29 and Sept 14. Last week I rec'd four sports letters and two from you. Glad to have mail from here was coming in well. I sure wish I could have dropped into Beaver Lake with you. Wish I could get my hands on one of those ducks, too. He'd be plucked & roasted before he knew it. Too bad about parcel from Chick, but I don't really need them. Pass on my thanks through Mrs. Beng[?], I rec'd vitamin pills July from Bay[?]. I'm looking forward to the records.
We've got some real jive in the barrack tonight. Your hit parade and movie news is passed on to all interested , also Jims sports. We sure get a laugh out of your jokes - the cornier the better. I'm eagerly waiting for news of the baby. Will close this & write [?]. Syd.
