Dear Al:

Just a few lines to say many thanks for your most welcome letter which I received just two days ago. I was just thinking the other day that I was about due to hear from you again.

Well, as yet, everything is just going fine over here with me and I hope it is the same with you.

By gosh Al, when I recall the days that we used to have back in the old battery, I can certainly understand why you are so bloody fed up. Just to think how we all hoped that that whole bunch could come over to-gether.

Give my very best regards to Mrs. Thorpe and the girls and I hope they are all well.

How many of the originals went with the 46th to Alberta. The reason I asked is because I haven't heard from young Mac for quite some time.

Thanks very much for sending your cousin's address Al. If I ever get the chance, I will drop around and see him, but I guess that won't be for a while yet.

Chick Webb is now in this outfit with me and is looking good. He sends his best regards to all back there.

Give my very best to Ken Pope and the boys. Ask him to drop me a line as I never did get an answer to his last letter.

Well, Al, I guess that is all for now so I'll close. So please write soon again.

Always a friend

Gerry
