Dear George,

Well George I guess tomorrow we won't be able to celebrate together & its quite a few years since we haven't isn't it. I got your letter a couple of days ago & it's the first I've had from you since I've come over here so I guess they must be going down in the drink as old jerry still seems to be sinking our boats on us.

I was in on the big raids on Esson & Cologne & they were the real goods. The Jerries are damn good shots & we are shooting to kill so George if you join up don't be too anxious to get over here. I hope your Dad is o.k. again, you will likely be pretty busy with out him looking after the chickens.
