Dear Mom:

Well here I am again it is a couple of weeks since I have written. Since I last wrote I have received a box & 300 cigs.

The cheese & crackers were very welcome, as well as the bars and gum.

We do get a ration of candy, we are supposed to get 4 oz. a week but are lucky if we get that much in a month.

I also want to thank Shirley for the pictures I sure got a kick out of the one with Eleanor. The ones of Shirley and Pat at Locarno are good as well.

I was glad to get the clippings.

Gordy Cox will probably be in this camp when he gets out of the hospital so I will watch for him.

I am to go on 9 days leave on the 29th and I am going up to the mid-lands. I am also going to Mrs. Brown. I have not been able to go before as I have to go up to London then back so it takes about 8 hours from here. The trains are fast enough when they are moving but they stop every 4 or 5 miles.

In the last couple of weeks I have had some gun drill, the first since last summer. It was not to[o] bad although I was a little rusty on it.

I have been trying to get out on one of the schemes that the boys in our battery go out on all the time as they are a lot better than this camp. I wish I could get out of here to almost any place else.

At the present time I am doing fatigues I have been taken out of the gun shed. I don't know if I will be going back or not. This business of doing fatigues is no good. There is plenty of work to be done on the guns.

I received a letter from Dad & one from Barbara yesterday. He mentioned my being on motorcycles. That only lasted half a day then the MO took me off. Things are very quiet around here now we don't even see very many planes now. I guess most of them are based in France now.

Will you let the Compensation Board know that I am still alive.

Well Good-bye for now.

Love
Ted

P.S. You don't need to put the battery in the address any more. T.
