Dear Mom

For the last week and a half this place has been a mad house as we have moved. I came down with the advance party and have hardly had time to turn around. My jeep was the only one here and everyone wanted to use it. So that meant when I wasn't eating or sleeping I was driving.

The camp is an old estate and is quite a place. The only thing that is wrong is that from my hut to the kitchen is half a mile. The huts are scattered all over the place.

As I mentioned the camp is near Horsham at Denne Park and there are also other camps that the place has taken over all of which are around 7 or 8 miles from here.

I must thank you for the box which arrived a couple of days late for my birthday as it was held up by the move. Every thing in it was grand, the cake and crackers were in good shape until we started to work on them. As yet I have not had time to sit down and take a good look at the papers but I should be able to now as things are starting to settle down now.

Mrs. Davis sent me a book for my birthday and Jull sent me a card and letter. By this time I guess you know that the Queen Elizabeth is to be used to bring our boys home. Even at that I don't expect to get home much before spring. At one time I hoped to be home for Christmas but as I am going to miss it I think that it would be a much better trip in the spring. I am going to put in for my leave in another week or two.

Bill finally wrote the other day, he is up in Yorkshire now, I am going to try to see him if I can.

Well I am at the end of the paper so Bye for now. P.S. get a bond.

Love,
Ted
