Dear Mom
I have another address after all this time and I might say it came as a bit of a surprise. First how I came to end up here I don't know. The name of the place is #1 Static Base Laundry. As yet they haven't given me a job so I don't know what I will be doing. I was sent here as a driver but from all reports I don't think I will be driving as there are only a couple of trucks here and they have drivers for them.
There are quite a few C.W.A.C.s working here as well as the boys. To tell the truth I don't like that part of it. I guess it is just because I am not used to having them around.
The camp is not bad we each have a single bed with real springs in them. The food is good. Even with the good points I would rather be back sleeping on a hard board bed and the food a little worse.
This place is out in the middle of nowhere and it takes you half a day to get out of the place.
Most of the boys that came in here in the last couple of weeks are categoried like myself only they were wounded, some in Italy, some in France. We all have one thing in mind and that is to get out of here as fast as possible, if possible.
Another thing "We" don't like we have to take down our unit flashes (RCA's in my case) and put up Ordinance. Why I don't know as we are only attached and not transferred. The way we are getting around that [is] we only put them on the uniform we wear around here and keep our own on our good tunic.
I have no idea what happened to that D.M. course I thought I was going on I guess I've had it.
Here is the end of the paper so I will have to stop complaining for now.
Love
Ted
