"A" Wing No.7 Cdn Repat Depot
C.A.O.
Jan 15th/46

Dear Mom:

Things are not going quite as I thought they would and I may be over here longer than I expected. The camp is just about finished here and from what I can find out I may be going into another Repat on the staff of it until it closes as there are quite a few boys with more points than I have to go home yet. The boys with low points that have gone home have gone with a regiment or on industrial leave. So I don't think that [I] had better make any more statements as to when I think I will be home until I find out for sure.

Did I tell you that I have been going up [to] the hockey games at Wembley ice rink in London? They are all Canadian army and air force teams playing. The only part that I did not like was the cold ride up and back in the jeep.

The other day box 43 arrived and was welcome as usual.

For the last few days we have been getting some grand weather during the day and a light frost at night and that makes it cold driving at night or in the morning.

Things are very quiet around what is left of this outfit we are just cleaning up the camps. We have four of them finished, the next is "B" Wing then our camp last. The last of the boys are to move out on the 28th then the Limies take over. As far as I am concerned the[y] can have this camp as it is just a mud hole every time it even looks like rain and when it does rain the mud is something terrible, we are always pulling trucks out of it.

Well here is the end of the paper so I have to close for now.

All My Love,
Ted.
