Dear Aunt Lida:

Here I am again I am sorry that I have not written sooner but I have been very busy for the last couple of months taking another course. I can't tell you what it is but I can say that I will be safer when I go into action than on the other job I had.

I want to thank you for the box you sent it arrived about three weeks before Christmas. Everything was grand. We don't see very much candy as it is very heavily rationed.

Christmas and New Years went by very quietly for me. I spent both weekends going to shows as it was the best way to [keep] out of mischief. I might also add that both weekends were dry ones for me but that is just as well.

Most of my money is going into war bonds so I am only getting $25 a month which is enough to get by on if I go easy. It is giving me something to start with when I get home.

Things are very quiet around here now all I ever see now is a few planes going and coming from the continent.

There are quite a few boys here that have been wounded and are now ready to go back and most of them want to go. For myself I will wait until it warms up a little.

The weather has been quite cold for the last few weeks but there hasn't been any snow as yet. I hope that we don't get any as it makes an awful mess of things in the country as they have nothing to handle it with. I don't think they know what a snow plow looks like.

How is every one there I have been keeping well. At the present time I have a cold but nothing serious.

Well I will close for now as I have to do some studying for an exam on Monday.
