Dear Mom:
Here I am again after a long period of silence. I am O.K. but dead tired as we are working day and night. The night before last we didn't get in until 4 o'clock and were up again and on the road at 8 so that didn't give us much sleep. It wouldn't be so bad if that only happened once in a while but it is 3 or 4 times a week. The boys are like a bunch of wolves they are so tired and there is nothing that can be done as they are short of drivers.
As for leaves they are almost out of the question at the present time.
Well I have some pictures I am sending in another letter which won't be far behind this.
I sent a picture of the bunch taken in Aldershot if you look in the back row about 8 or 10 from the right you will find me.
The map that I sent along with it takes in some of the places I have been. Yes Mom I do want you to do some Christmas shopping for me. I thought I would try to get a couple of things over here but there is nothing but junk that I could buy. The things that are any good cost like hell.
The parcels have been coming along fine. The coffee is sure a real treat after the stuff we get here. You don't need to worry about the milk as we can usually get the odd can from the kitchen. The soup is grand it sure helps when we come in late to have something warm. All the cooking is done on the stove in the hut.
You can tell Dad that the cigarettes are coming along fine.
I wish I had a definite answer to give you as to when I will be coming home. All we know at the present is that the camp is supposed to be closed by the middle of January. So if all goes well I may be home the end of Feb. or in March. I did get the negative from Mrs. Davis and will send it along with the pictures.
The weather is getting colder here now and we have had frost the last few nights. I sure hope that it doesn't get any colder as we are in the tin huts and they are sure cold.
Well Mom I will close and get some sleep as I am driving to London in the morning and have to be wide awake up there.
All my Love
Ted.
