Dear Folks-

Riec'd two letters this last week one from Ivan and one from Mother was glad to hear everything was O.K. Heard from Marie and she was in the hospital with a broken ankle and will be laid off work for at least weeks. One of her brothers came out of the hospital on monday and she went in on Tuesday so she is sure having bad luck.

I just got back from a weekend at Brighton. Its a great place to spend a lively weekend. We got rooms in a hotel right on the see front for 10 shillings bath and breakfast included, about $2.00. The beds were tops and its quite a change to sleep between nice clean sheets and get up and have a bath in a buth tub. I went in with a officer from Winnipeg who I met at Three Rivers. He is with the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders and wears a kilt, which always creates a bit of comotion.

We saw a show Ali Baba and his 40 thieves had supper and went to a dance in the evening. There were oddles of females there and found one to my liking. Went to a tea dance this afternoon (Sunday) and came back to camp early.

Met a lad who just came back from Sherbrook across the channel and says that things were plenty hot over there. He was a Captain of some armoured Reg't.

Haven't much more news because I wrote last Wed. Things are very quiet here even on the coast.

Had a letter from Jack Simpson giving me the low down on things around Theodore. Glad to hear the moisture situation is good. You sure must have plenty pasture. Hope your all fine.
