Dear Mom-
I received your parcel & Christmas card & wish to thank you very much, I hope mine gets to you in time. Freda sent me a very nice card too & and said she was sending a parcel so I'll be doing alright if I receive it.
I sent a letter of thanks to Aunt Eddith but the address you gave me wasn't very detailed. No number or street address, so in a way I'm expecting to get it back. It was a good letter with a lot of praise & bull to emphasize the gratitude I have for receiving the parcel.
So they turned down the bill as a phoney. Never mind, it was just a hope that I might get some cigarettes & cash in on them, as I'm not a strong smoker & they bring a fair price. Just in case you don't get any letters between now & Christmas I wish you a Merry Xmas & a prosperous New Year.
Nelly.
