My dear Bill:

I just got your letter. Gosh it took a long time to come. It was dated April 1st.

Bill I sent you a photograph of yours truly in March and I was wondering if you had received it yet. Let me know when you do.

If this letter seems a bit mixed up, please forgive me, but it happens to be 12:30 noon and I've just got home from the hospital. You see they took mom there at 6 a.m. this morning and I went with her, but the baby hadn't arrived at 11 a.m. so I decided I had better come home and ‘phone my father, and get some work done, but I'm going back down to the hospital as soon as I finish this. Gosh I am so excited. I let you know as soon as I know what it is. I'm having a holiday from work, if that's what you can call it. I honestly know that I couldn't feel worse if I was having the baby myself.

I got your cable. Congratulations. I'm so glad you've finished your tour. I'd like to know what's going to happen next.

My girlfriend had her baby last weekend. Gosh I've been having an awful time with babies.

Nothing else to tell you now dear. Please forgive me for this terrible letter but I am a bit upset.

Loads of love, yours Hilda.

Give my regards to the fellows & tell Len I wrote to Jessie last week. Oh yes and your father ‘phoned Mrs. Jodrell.
