H.M.S. GLORIOUS

April 7, 1939

Dear Dad:

Easter greetings from Malta! Well, perhaps it isn't by the time you receive this.
You shall soon be going back on the road, getting in touch with new prospects, etc. How do things appear to be shaping this year?

I don't hear anything about Premier Aberhart these days. I hope he hasn't allowed the roads to deteriorate too badly. I wish you would give me some idea on how he is getting along.

Have you made any alterations to 1608 lately? And another thing, how does the home stand financially these days - have you paid for it completely yet?
I hope Jean is getting down to work on her studies now - she has only a couple of months to go for her examinations.

Went for a walk with Garlick and Barnes this morning in the brilliant sunshine. I suppose you too are not doing too badly in Calgary.

I now have my new commission in the Royal Navy which I will send home soon. I'm still hoping you managed to see shots of Glorious during the combined fleet manoeuvres off Gibraltar in your Movietime news. You no doubt have seen the Ark Royal, Britain's latest and largest aircraft carrier.

Hope you enjoy the pictures I am sending under separate cover. If Mussolini opens them, I hope he enjoys them too!

Love

Bill
