Dear Nerta,

Yours of Dec 9th arrived a couple of days ago, and I surely was beginning to wonder what had happened to you I think one of your letters must have missed, and in case there was an order in it, please find out for me, the numbers of the last two you sent. The last one I received was while in rest camp near Boulogne. The reason I think one (letter) is missing, is that you speak of not seeing Georgie again. This was the first I knew that you had seen her. Then to night, I had a letter from her, posted 16th Nov. in which she speaks of having seen you. Owing to the word Canadian being omitted, it has been wandering around a good deal.

Of course I know that none of you wrote for a while, expecting me home, but don’t let it occur again.

I had a letter last eve, from Mrs. Chas Thomson, Buffalo posted 24th Dec, but no Canadian mail as late as that. Consequently I do not yet know how you came out in your exams. Of course, judging by the past, I take it that you were very near the top. Hope so anyway.

I hope all my parcels are home by now. I think they should have missed the Halifax Explosion all right. First time you are home, use up that printing paper. You will find instructions in one of the packets, and can get some good prints for yourself. Whenever possible, make twice the margin at the bottom, that you have at the top. I have masked most of the plates so that this is possible. Send a roll or two in your boxes or those from home, occasionally, I left all my stuff in England, but may get it some time.

Yes, I was afraid I would be rather busy in the office when Bobbie came down, but was not & we had a good time. I thot she was settled for good, too, but not her. She is looking after me like a mother. Believe me, no Canadians get “roped in” unless they want to. The trouble is they are so far away from every body who loves them, that the first time they get someone who tells them she loves them, they don’t want to let her get away.

Cannon Howitt was not at All Saints in my time, it was Cannon Fornerett & I think he is with the army some place now. The church was very low then too. Where is St. Georges? Down on main nearly to Victoria or West Ave.? I didn’t like it very much.

Glad you are getting to a few plays. They are part of one’s education.

Your loving brother,
Worth.

This arrived this morning and I was certainly glad to get it. I had a letter from Livingstone yesterday I’m ready for bed and dead tired so I will write you all the news on Sunday.

Lots of love
Nerta
