My dear Mr Gale.

I am writing you these few lines regarding the death of my friend and Comrade Ralph Gale, who has been with me from the time of his enlistment to the time of his death on July 29th – 1918. He was buried decently with due respect to French English and Colonial Comrades.

There were five wreath’s placed on his grave and in the cource of a week or two we hope to have a tombstone placed there also.

His illness was of several weeks duration during which time he had satisfactory attendance in a good Hospital as I know from having visited him.

He was well likes and respected by all knew him. I shall give you full details on my return to Canada.

I express the deepest sympathy on behalf of all comrades here to you all in you sad bereavement

Yours Sincerely
A.G. Griffin
