PLEASE REPLY TO
PRISONERS OF WAR DEPARTMENT.

May 3rd. 1916.

Captain John R. Gale,
O.C. 5th Canadian Trench Mortar Battery,
2nd Canadian Division,
France.

Dear Sir,

We are already sending a considerable number of parcels to your brother, Pte. Ralph C. Gale. He is assigning 10/- [added in pencil: “(shillings 124 cents J.P.G)”]  a month from his pay and we are sending him 7/- parcels weekly from this Society, so that he gets a 7/- parcel one week and a 12/- one the next. In addition to this he gets an extra 5/- parcel once a month from the 4th. C.M.R. through this Society.

We shall, of course, be glad to send him any parcels that you may wish in your name. If he were to receive 12/- or 15/- parcels a week, this should be more than sufficient for his needs. We are also sending him bread from Switzerland.

Yours faithfully,
