Dear Mary:-

Just a few lines to let you know I received a letter from you last week which I enjoyed very much as per usual. I had one from Mother and one from Ruth as well, also a parcel from Mother containing a nice little sweater-vest. A letter from Jim in Scotland completed the post list, not too bad for one week.

Well sis I suppose you are having a good time this winter according to yours and Mother’s letter’s, what with the young men from the Park and your week-end trips to Vancouver visiting your different friends. I suppose you get amusement at Yenandon as well so you should be well off.

I am practically in the same box as yourself as far as enjoyment is concerned although I don’t have my visits away from Newport very often. Nevertheless I am making up for it around here. I have a nice little home here, not the Oxenbury’s, where I spend quite a few of my evenings. It is a real home-like place and as the boy is in the Navy the old folks make me feel right at home. I suppose it is a case similar to the young fellow who visits our house so regular. Yesterday I was out for Dinner, tea and supper so you see I can sponge on people when I wish.

We are having some fine real cold weather here now and I think I could enjoy it if my blood was not so thin. You see this is my first winter for three years so I feel it quite a bit.

Well Sis this is only a note but I dont know anything worth writing. I dont know yet when I am coming home. Well Bye Bye Sis with love to all and hoping everyone is better I am

Your loving Brother
Harold.
