Dear Mother:-

We are still travelling. I believe the best way to see the world if you have no money is to join the army. I guess by the time we get home to dear old B.C. we will have been around the world. We have eight at our table, which is our home on board here, and all are Canucks, five are Victoria, two Winnipeg and myself. You see we are nearly a B.C. bunch. When I asked someone the date which I just filled in now I thought of your birthday which is past and I forgot to remember it. Well Mother forgive me this time because we have been busy and always on the travel it seems. This is a beautiful night on the water and we were all out on deck having some singing. When it came to the song “I wonder how the old folks are at home” I began to wonder some because I havent had a scratch of mail from any one yet.

I suppose everything is the same I hope so any way. Roberta must be well long ago and I cant seem to imagine any one else anything but well.

Well this letter is the first of mine for censorship so in future I cant go into details as in the past

The socks etc everyone promised to send me wont be much use where we are going as we wear sun helmets and duck suits. Well I will drop a line again at first oppurtunity and perhaps can tell later on if there is anything we need that you cant buy there. Well there is no news here so I guess I will have to close for this time. Enough said I am still in best of health and feeling fine so bye bye for this time

Harold
