Mrs. F. W. Latham,
Suite 7, Victoria Block,
Moose Jaw, Sask.
14th February, 1945
Dear Mrs. Latham,
Having just heard that my previous letter to you went astray I am anxious that you hear from me about Frank. The accident was one that is very difficult to account for especially with the captain so experienced a pilot. He has flown out of here for ten months. I conducted the funeral on the 24th of December at 11 o’clock in the morning. Some pictures are enclosed. Since it was such a bad day they did not turn out quite as well as they might.
Though Frank was a newcomer to Iceland he had already made a good number of friends in the mess and we all feel the loss very deeply. W/C Sully has written you giving you all the details and the names of the next-of-kin of the other members of the crew.
I know how difficult it must be for you without Frank and may I add my sympathy and the sympathy of the squadron to you in your low.
Yours very sincerely,
Richard H.N. Davidson S/C
Squadron Padre, RCAF
Reykjavik (S), Iceland (C).
