Dearest Jeanie.-
Well darling here I am again I sure hope you are feeling as well as possible? The weather has been grand here since I’ve been here and not too hot. The easterners can sure have their east though I’ll take the west.
Well my love there really isn’t much in the way of news things are very quiet and peaceful here, although the flying is very serious you are liable to pick up a submarine any time! This is a typical bush station everything is made for comfort of the personell lovely mess recreation room and what not. It is nice country to fly in though, no mountains just endless chains of lakes and bush. It is only a few hours to New York by plane from here so I may get there one of these fine days? I’ll will probably be on a different crew here for awhile operational is much different to O.T.U you really have to know your stuff here. I still haven’t been into town yet although I suppose there isn’t much to see it is quite small. Although there are a couple of nice summer resorts. I got pretty drunk in Montreal It was the first time I had seen beer in quart bottles and I kind of overestimated my capacity (and it is sure good beer) but I don’t think Montreal is such a slick place too many frogs! We got beer in quart bottles here at the mess also liquor & wines as much as you want, there aren’t any beer parlors in Nova Scotia so Saturday nite is open to the public (that is by invitation) so there are quite a few civilians out for drinks sat. nite! How is Dennis Barbara & Jr. have you got a name for (him her) yet? There are no women on this station except the waitresses in the mess so we run around with practically nothing on when we aren’t on duty of course we have to dress for dinner at mess, but that isn’t too bad.
I should put on weight here, because we get plenty of opportunity to sleep and rest. Well darling I guess that is all for now write as soon as you can if you aren’t getting set to go to the hospital
Love & kisses
Frank
