My Dearest Mother,

Just a little letter again, to tell you that I would like a good pair of high boots for this winter again. You have heard me speak of Terry before. He has just got a pair from home. So his Mother will send me a pair. You see she lives in Eastern Canada. So it will just take about 5 weeks for me to get them. So if you will send the money to her Mother dear. They cost something less than $15. So if you will send that amount she will put something else in if there is anything left over. They are a little expensive but are real good and will last me for the rest of the war, and a long time after this war. They are made of real Elk skin and come just below the knee, and not a drop of wet can get in. And as you know the winters are not very dry, and I think it is worth spending a little money on. I will give you the address at the end of this letter. Just tell her who you are, and give her my address just to make sure. By the time you send the money, the boots will be on the way. Well Mother we are still in our billet and expect to be here for some time. You remember me telling you about the Youngs. Capt. Young said she hopped off with £5000, and half the furniture, and she said she took nothing. The family is divided up. She is living close to Gran on Stanhope Rd. Well I do not know much about that sort of thing but I guess they will fix up before long. No news but dear, but I will write again soon.

Give my best love to Everybody. Hope Eve and Dad are Well.

Ever Your Loving Son
Eddie.

The address [for the boots]
Mrs J.W. Martin
