Mr. C Cochrane

Dear Sir
I write to you with deep regret regarding the death of your son no. 910128 Pte G. W Cochrane who died of wounds received in action on April 14th. At the time of death he was in the Casualty Clearing Station in Barlin and there he received every attention and care. He had taken part with his Company in operations against the enemy and the success which crowned their efforts was evidence that one and all were heroes and gallant soldiers.
I wish to express to you my sincere regret at the loss of your son and of a brave soldier.
Yours Sincerely
H J Dawson
