Thursday-
My dear Finola
Here are my photos of Richtofens plane- a Fokker Triplane- after he was shot down and killed- it has been pretty well stripped by Australian soldiers- souvenir hunters- before we got it: they ripped off the canvas on the wings & tail plane & rudder to get the Iron Crosses, which were the German markings- the young Captain standing on the right of one of the photos looking slightly upward was Arthur Bechamp- Proctor, a South African who was in my squadron & who was killed shortly afterwards: he had shot down 57 German planes & had won the V.C. D.S.O. D.F.C. and M.C.- pretty good!
The third photo is a German one of Richtofens squadron which I got from a German pilot we shot down & captured later: Much love from
Dad-
