Dear Mr Irwin

Here we are again. Trust you & yours are all well & doing fine.

As you will note I have managed after a struggle to get back again to France & hope to be able to present Fritz with a few souvenirs soon.

The weather keeps beautiful & fair & just fine for a big offensive

Things do not look any too bright, but there is no danger as to the ultimate ending to this show.

Personally I feel just as optimistic now as when I first came across, & in fact a little more so.

Guess I’ll come for a trip to Norwood when I get my next “blighty,” thank God I have been well looked after during nearly four years of war, in some way I feel I shall be alright in the future, & in any case you may be sure I & with lots of others can go under with that spirit & feeling that only the British Race possesses.

Shall endeavor to look up your son the first chance I get & anything I can do help him will be a great pleasure to me. It seems only a few weeks ago, since he and I were together in Seaford sampling one of his mother’s parcels.

Must close now with all good wishes to Mrs. Irwin self & family

Sincerely yrs,

Lieut. Walter T. Robus
