Dearest Dorothy:-

How's my little chum & my sweetheart these days. You haven't written to me for such a long time & I do want my Pet to write to Daddy when ever she can. Mother told me about your big night when Miss Craig was there my you were a big girl giving the lady the bunch of flowers weren't you & to sing in the Indian tongue too. Oh dear we must be getting big.

Daddy is by the seaside now, & its raining outside & the waves are breaking on the beach not very roughly but as if they were very tired its not a very nice day to play there. tho' I've seen children there last week I expect its very cold home now & perhaps you have snow & ice. Dad hasn't seen any snow yet & doesn't care if he never sees it. but perhaps the mud is the worst & we have plenty of that but we cant complain as it has been very nice weather.

Dad does wish he could take you in his arms this afternoon & rock you you & Eleanor wouldn't that be lovely. & perhaps Mommy would like to be rocked too. Do you think she would. Now dearie I'm sorry I can't just do this so I'll just send you a kiss & a hug on paper instead from your ever loving Daddy XXXX 000
