Dear Mother:

It is Sunday again so I have time to write a little to let you know how things are going on around here. I received two letters from you early last week but I had just written a couple of days before so I waited till to day to answer. I also got a letter from Hannah I sure was pleased to hear how all of you were getting on. You seemed to be enjoying your trip at the coast. Uncle Charlie and all the rest of them would be glad to see you. I'll bet it looked queer at first when you arrived there. I know the first time I went back down it seemed strange. You say our place at the diamirid didn't look the same. I thought that too. I guess it was because it wasn't home any more. It would do you good to see all the people again. How did sonny like it. Does he think he would like to go back again. It will all be strange to him now too. It doesn't take long for the place to change does it. It would be jake when dad & Hannah arrived and you were all together. Were you at the ranch. I guess they are still living in the same shack yet. That house is still a dream. How are Uncle Hughey and Aunt Bab. Did you stay there long. It would be nice there so close to the beech. I got a letter from Mag not long ago. Does she seem to be getting any better. It certainly would be great if she was fixed up again. Don't forget to give me the news all about that trip I'm sure you would enjoy it. I hope your asthma didn't bother you and spoil the fun.

I got a letter from Aunt Jim and also one from Uncle Charlie's Jean. So I have all the news of Carluke Jean wrote instead of Mary. I have been writing to Mary all along but she took sick suddenly so Jean answered my letter. It seems she took a cold in the back and has to stay in bed They say she is pretty sick. I hope she gets well again soon. She has wrote to me quite often giving me the news. I sent the pressed flowers Hannah had in her letter to Aunt Jim. They arrived O.K. here. Aunt Jim thought they were aufully pretty. She writes to me often and I'm always glad to hear from her.

I received one of your parcels to day. The one with the socks & cake in. I got letters over a week ago saying they had left so I was waiting patiently for it to come. The socks are certainly first class. They are away ahead of the army issue socks we get. The gum & chocolate is also just in my line. I haven't tried the cake yet for it just arrived about an hour ago. Every thing was in good shape. Not damaged at all. The coffee, oxo & coaco was also Ok. The prepared coaco is the best thing to send. it isn't so hard to make. The coffee & oxo have to have boiling water & it is hard to get here. The coaco can be made in warm water or used like butter on bread.

Things are just about usual here at seaford. I am on musketry training now. It isn't very hard so I'm pretty jake. Well I haven't much more to write about at present so I will close with love to Hannah, Charlie, Dad & yourself.

You loving son

John
