Dear Mother & All:-

Just dropping you a few lines to let you know I am well & kicking. Just come out of the line & expect a rest for quite a time. We are getting very fine weather over here with the exception of one day & it drizzled all day but it hasn't taken long to dry up. I havn't met any of the Saltcoats boys over here yet but it is likely I will before long. I havn't recieved any mail yet since I arrived over here but that is easy to account for as I have been shifted from one battalion to another so much in the last month that it takes a long time for my mail to get around.

Say Mother drop me a few eats as often as possible as we do not get fed so very well over here & besides it is nice to taste some of your cooking once more. I suppose the town is still progressing in the same manner. I am looking forward to the day when I may have a chance to relieve Spice of some of his burden or be a burden to him I'm not sure which.

Well Mother this business is doing me the world of good as it is relieving me of my over share of flesh which I thought was impossible.

Hoping this find you & all in the best of health.

Your Loving Son

Roy
