My Dear Son,

Just a few lines to let you know we are well. Although I havent heard from you in weeks, I know what it is all about, we have been listening to the news all day as they keep interrupting the programs every few minutes to keep us posted on the progress of the troops. Needless to say, you know that I wory but I know my dear that you are doing what you think right, and I am very proud of you, and I know that God will protect you & keep you safe, Mal is still here, but seems to be restless since he heard the news of the invasion, he said it would have to happen when I am not there. I told him I thought he was lucky but he cant see it that way.

Am going into New Westminster tomorrow to see dad. Ruth & Mal were there the other night he was digging the garden & got a faint spell & fell & hurt his face, but it is nothing serious so don't worry.

There isent anything happening around here things keep going just about the same. Bert is still at the ship yard & Frank is working on a boat, Emil is still at the shipyard.

I have a boarder in the house, you remember Mr. MacLeod that you met when Curt went North, well he has been sick in the hospital & when it was time for him to go home he dident have any place to go but a hotel room, so thought it would be nice for him to come here until he is strong enough to go back to work. he will only be here for a couple of weeks. He is quit a decent old chap, seems very grateful for everything we try to do for him.

Well my dear ther isent anything more to write about so will have to say good night. This is kind of a crazy letter but had to say something as you will be wanting to hear something from home no matter how crazy it is so with all my love. As ever. Mom.
