Dear Mother

I hope you are all quite well I got a letter from you yesterday I'm sorry you were so anxious about me, I'm afraid my last two or three letters have been pretty short, but I suspect you have seen by the Papers that we have been pretty busy lately.

We are having lovely Weather just now, it's quite a treat after the Weather were had the last month or so.

It must be lovely over in England this weather, I shall be glad when it comes my turn to go on pass just now the Passes are all stopped for some reason but I think they will start again pretty soon.

I had a nice letter from Emmy a few days ago, I'm sorry that I Sam is so short of men, it must make it awful bad for our Boys too, I expect that they have to work very hard now, I never thought old Jim would go away & leave us I always thought he was there for good.

Young Gough out of the Iron Mongers shop is around close to us now, at least his Battalion is if he is still with it, I'm going to try & find him if I can, the first change I get. Today is Sunday & I never knew anything about what Day it was, till someone just said so the days are all very much alike here.

I am afraid I havent got any news at all.

I hope you all are in as good health as I am

give my love to all at Home

I remain

your loving Son

Tommy.
