Dear Mom,

Just a short note to go with the boys' letter to let you know I got yours of the 15th of Dec. and that's a lovely picture of Dad. Send more of all of you if you can.

I have not been singing very much until just recently. We had the Broadcast this afternoon and everything was swell. Bob Bowman - the announcer, said afterward it was the best ever broadcast from overseas by the Canadian troops, so we are immensely proud of ourselves. No, I regret to say I was discharged from hospital on the day I was to go and have tea with Lady Astor so I sort of missed out on that score. I am glad to hear that you have recovered and also that Mr. and Mrs. Foote are better. I wrote them last night and sent a snap as I promised so they should get their letter at the same time you do.

So Evelyn Best and Kenny Gibson are getting married are they? Will you kindly convey to her my heartiest congratulations next time you see her. I never though she'd do it - honestly!

I got a lovely letter from Blake and another from Beth Henderson today. Also a parcel from the White Rock Community Club. I have lots of writing to do.

I have seen Millie and Tony again, also Mrs. Lees. I think I told you in the letter last night so won't say any more.

Yes, I'll have to look up Alf's sister next time I'm down in Brighton. I go down nearly every weekend as it is only 35 miles away.

Did I tell you I met Mrs. Jackman's sister last week? She lives in Croyden right near the airport. She has invited me up to spend a weekend with them sometime soon and I think I will because I liked both her and her husband very much.

Well I guess that's all for now. Write soon

Love as ever,

Jim
