Dear Mrs. Dennison,

A few days ago a friend of Lloyd's returned from Overseas. He was a school friend and went overseas on the same convoy as Lloyd and spent a number of days on leave with Lloyd up until the day before the boys went missing.

He learned from Lloyd's intelligence officer that our boys were in an operation in support of the attack on Kiel. Lloyd's friend tells us almost the complete operation was over the sea and the rescue crews seldom work at night. He doesn't think it looks at all good, especially as they were on secret duty.

We have been wondering if we should pass this information on to you or wait for the official word to come through but the time seems so long and we were glad to hear some information as we have feared for the out come for some time.

If you hear any further information that we have not discussed with you we would be very glad to hear from you.
