My dear Bill:

Gee it sure is cold here, I do believe I'm living at the North Pole. It was 10 degrees below last night and it's going to be still colder tonight. How do you like that?

Last night the "morgue" had a special night and they called it "High School Night." (Something different from the old foggies you see around the Gallery) I thought I'd like to see how many kids turned out so I dragged Kaye along with me, and really we hag quite a good time. They started off the programme with an "old fashion" fashion show, you know dresses from about 1900-28, and it was fun to see all the stupid things they wore in those days. One girl wore one of the bathing suits from way back then, the kind with the long skirt, and stockings and hat. It was really a riot. Then there was a film on Canadian Art and a tour of the Galleries and then - this'll kill you - a dance. Imagine, they've never allowed a dance to be held in the Gallery before. It was only for an hour, but the kids enjoyed themselves. So did I. You'd never guess how many turned out - thre were 855. We were all suprised.

So that's the most exciting thing that's happened for a long time.

I'm glad to hear that you got a Nazi plane. I think that's marvellous.

Give my love to all the fellows and wish them lots of luck. Well I think I'll scram for now.

Love Hilda.
