My dear Bill:
Well I really believe that winter's on its way. Most everybody is wearing their winter clothes now, so that's a pretty good sign, isn't it? So much for that.
I did get my new job, and I like it fine, except that there isn't enough to do. I shouldn't complain about that though. But really it's fun, and it never gets monotonous, because you're never in the same place for 5 minutes.
Oh Bill, I have something to funny to tell you. ( I relieve the girl on the switchboard at noon) When I was on the switchboard the other day, a call came in, and when I anwered "The Art Gallery" a voice at the other end of the line said "Is that the Morgue" and I just about split my sides laughing, because you always called the place the "morgue".
The girls at my house said to send you their love, and if we ever get hold of a film, we're going to send you a picture of the three of us.
Oh!!! I almost forgot. Betty and I are taking tap dancing lessons, just for a past time, and it's really lots of fun. You should see us. We've had skirts made especially for that. They are Mackenzie plaid, with inch pleats all the way ‘round, and (if you can imagine) 17" long, and I'm about 5'3", so you can see that there really wasn't much use in wasting the money on the material.
Well sweetheart, I'm at a loss for words, again, so I do hope you'll forgive me.
Give my regards to all the boys, especially you and Len, and wish them all the best of luck.
Loads of love,
Hil.
