Dearest Bill:
Received your Christmas telegram today. Thanks a lot dear it made me feel good to know that you were thinking of me. I also got the fifteen page letter you wrote on the boat. Gee Bill, I love to get long letter from you, but I can't write long ones back to you. So you'll just have to be satisfied. It isn't that I mind spending the time writing to you ‘cause I really do love it, but I'm younger and smaller than you are, and therefore my vocabulary is smaller.
Christmas is over, and I'm glad. We had a very quiet one anyway; there was just my mother & father & me.
Santa Claus was very good to Beverly. As soon as I got to work this morning she was down in the office me all the things she got. She wanted to bring them all down into the office to show me but when your mother objected, she made me promise to go up at noon. I had to promise before I could get any work done. She's a swell kid. I like her very much.
How is Len? Wish him a Happy New Year for me, and tell him I saw his mother & father the other day and they're both in good health. I also had a letter from Jessie, and she's okay too. I've run out of words already and I written half as much as you usually do.
Hope you had a good time on your leave. I hope you'll write & tell me about it.
So long for now.
Love Hilda
