Dear Mother:

Nothing much to write about except that the weather is extremely warm and that I have a love-e-ly sun tan! Do you still play a lot of bridge? You certainly were lucky to have Jean home for Christmas. Is there any hope of Dad getting a new car and tires? Some hope I suppose.

You are certainly fortunate to have natural gas for heating. The shortages in England have not been funny. I don't know whether you have been rationed in gas for heating but perhaps you have been. I should think there is a lot you could use it for. Can you tell my why so many apples go to waste in Canada, especially in Ontario - one would think there should be ready markets - for cider anyway!

Love

Bill

P.S. I wish I hadn't taken such a keen interest in geography as a youth. We seem to be suffering from it now.
How is Ronny getting on. It's been some time since I received a letter from him.
